MOUNTAIN MOON COFFEEHOUSE SEASON CLOSES WITH “BLUEGRASS EXPRESS”
WHEELING, W.Va. (April 7, 2008)—Oglebay Institute’s Mountain Moon Coffeehouse closes its 2007-2008 season of entertainment at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center with the band “Bluegrass Express.”
Formed in 2001 when members became friends while playing at local jam sessions, “Bluegrass Express” plays a wide selection of hard driving traditional and gospel music and features traditional acoustic instruments including mandolin, guitar, banjo, upright bass and fiddle.
They have played at many local fairs and festivals and performed several times on live radio programs. “Bluegrass Express” recorded two CDs, which include several original songs. “Hear Your Voice Callin’ in the Wind” was recorded in 2003, and “He Set Me Free” was released in 2005.
Band members include Vic Marshall on mandolin and lead and harmony vocals, Bob Talkington on guitar and lead and harmony vocals, Wes Talkington on fiddle and vocals, Rich Smith on banjo and vocals and Carol Smith on upright bass.
“We are very happy to have “Bluegrass Express” at the Mountain Moon Coffeehouse,” Bob Heyer, volunteer coordinator for the series, said. “Their performance is sure to be very enjoyable for all how attend.”

The Mountain Moon Coffeehouse presents several shows every year and provides toe-tappin’ music appealing to all ages. Homemade refreshments are available at each show. All performances are held at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, 1330 National Road, Wheeling.
Admission for individual concerts is $7/ $5.50 for members and $5 per person for groups of 10 or more. Proceeds from the program benefit the environmental education programs of Oglebay Institute.
