ENJOY SPANISH WINE & FOOD AT STIFEL CENTER
WHEELING, W.Va. (May 5, 2009)- -Oglebay Institute continues its “Art of Wine” series at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 22 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center with a sampling of Spanish wines.
Wine aficionado Jorge Saavedra is the guest presenter at the festive event, which features a buffet of light foods including a variety of tapas, Spanish appetizers that are served daily at nearly every bar and café in Spain. In fact, tapas are so much a part of the Spanish social scene that people invented the verb tapear, which means to go and eat tapas.
A native of Chile, Saavedra immigrated to the United States in the mid-70s and began a more than 30-year career in the restaurant business and wine field. He is very knowledgeable about wine regions around the world and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others.
Sponsored by H.E. Neumann Co., the Oglebay Institute wine tasting season continues through June. Each program has a different theme and includes at least five wine selections, complementary foods and a wine expert, who shares tips and information on selecting and serving wines. Guests always have an opportunity to purchase their favorite vintages.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Stifel Center at 304.242.7700. Payment is required at time of reservation. |
