The Museums of Oglebay Institute: Public Programs

Sunday Lecture Series
Oglebay Institute’s Seven Sundays to Remember lecture series begins each year in April and continues through October. Each month a guest lecturer presents an entertaining and informative program designed to complement the current exhibit on display at the Mansion Museum. Past Seven Sundays themes have included: personalities who shaped Ohio Valley history, the historic National Road and the history of food culture.

Glass Making Workshops
Oglebay Institute’s Glass Museum is one of the few places in our region where the beautiful art of glass making can still be observed and experienced by beginners. In addition to watching demonstrations, guests can try their hands at the craft by working one-on-one with a glass artisan.

Participants will have quality instruction from an experienced glass worker and get step-by-step personal training. At the end of the session, they have a beautiful piece of art glass to take home, and the best part is- they created it themselves.

Workshops include: Beginning Glass Bead Making, Beginning Glassworking and Paperweight Making Class.
