WINE TASTING AND DINNER AT STIFEL FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart or special friends by attending an elegant evening of fine art and fine wine at the beautiful and historic Stifel Fine Arts Center Friday, February 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Featured wines are from Miramonte Winery, one of Southern California’s premier artisan wineries, specializing in adventurous, succulent Rhone-based varietals. Wines will be presented by Miramonte founder Cane Vanderhoof and Wheeling native son Paul Irby, who is also a part of the winery ownership. Wines will be accompanied by a buffet dinner catered by Ye Olde Alpha and the music of Sophia Kayafas.

BUDDING NATURALISTS: NEW CLASS SERIES FOR CHILDREN AGES 4-6 AT THE SCHRADER CENTER

The Budding Naturalists program is designed for transitional kindergarten students ages 4-6 and continues the Schrader Center's strong commitment to active learning for Preschool aged children.

Themed classes include art, movement natural science exploration and outdoor discovery which help children develop the ability to work independently and cooperatively, and to act in a caring and responsible way towards their environment.

The winter series begins January 10 with classes meeting every other Tuesday through March 6. Hour-long sessions begin at 1 p.m. for the fee of $12 ($9 OI members) per student.

GLASSMAKING WORKSHOPS AT THE GLASS MUSEUM

In addition to live demonstrations, guests of Oglebay Institute's Glass Museum can try their hand at the beautiful craft of glassworking through a variety of workshops.

Participants will have quality, step-by-step instruction from an experienced glass worker and take home a beautiful piece of art glass at the end of each session.

Upcoming workshops include: Romance of Glass Workshop for Couples February 11 & 12. Beginning Glassworking and Paperweight Making workshops are offered by arrangement beginning February 13.
