Museum Classes

Walk-in workshops are available for $30 during regular Museum hours and are on a first come-first served basis. To schedule a workshop please call 304.242.7272. Must be 18 or older, wear protective gear, and sign a waiver.

Beginning Glass Bead Making	Adult	April 18 May 2	$80/$70 OI members $15 materials fee payable to instructor	Saturday 6pm - 9pm	Learn how to make beautiful one-of-a-kind beads for bracelets and necklaces. A Bead Making kit is provided to each student, and is available for purchase following the class. Minimum of three registrants. Glass Museum. Daisy Vail, instructor.
Intermediate Glass Bead Making	Adult	May 16	$80/$70 OI members $15 materials fee payable to instructor	Saturday 6pm - 9pm Or By Arrangement Scheduled One Week In Advance	Build on your basic skills from Beginning Glass Bead Making. Students must bring or purchase their own Bead Making Kit. Minimum of three registrants. Glass Museum. Daisy Vail, instructor.
Paperweight Making Class	Adult	March 25- May 16	$80/$70 OI members	Three Hour Sessions By Arrangement Scheduled One Week In Advance	Learn to make paperweights that contain colorful and interesting twists, swirls and flowers. Learn how to gather, re-heat and shape glass under the guidance of a Glassworker. No experience necessary. Limited to four registrants. Glass Museum. Bob Allen & Taylor Kelly, instructors.
Beginning Glassworking	Adult	March 25- May 16	$120/$100 OI members	11am – 4pm By Arrangement Scheduled One Week In Advance	Emphasis will be on learning glassworking basics including tools, equipment, terminology and studio safety. Learn how to gather, re-heat and shape molten glass. Make at least two paperweights and other free-form pieces as time allows. No glassworking experience is required. Glass Museum. Bob Allen & Taylor Kelly, instructors.
Next Steps in Glassworking	Adult	March 25- May 16	$120/$100 OI members	11am – 4pm By Arrangement Scheduled One Week In Advance	Students who have completed a Beginning Glassworking Class are invited to build on their basic skills and learn to use molds and blowpipes. Basic glassworking skills are required. Glass Museum. Bob Allen, instructor.
