Objectives:
1. Demonstrate drawings in the style of Renoir. 2. Recognize and describe the style of Renoir. 3. Create a drawing of a landscape.
Materials Provided:
• 9X12 Pastel Paper
• 8 Chalk Pastels
Materials Needed:
• Pencils
Vocabulary:
1. Landscape: natural outside scenery such as trees, grass, ponds, streams.
Motivation:
1. Show and discuss examples of prints from Renoir. 2. Demonstrate how to create the project before the students begin. 3. Display a finished example.
Instructions: 1. Pass out the pastels and paper to each student.
2. The students begin by lightly drawing a landscape with a pencil.
3. The students then fill in the drawing with chalk pastels, in the style on Renoir.
Evaluation:
1. Did the students lightly draw a landscape? 2. Did the students draw with the pastel in Renoir style? 3. Did the students complete the project?
