For more than eight years, Oglebay Institute has provided quality after-school arts programs to thousands of students at many locations throughout the Ohio Valley. Programs teach essential learning skills such as problem-solving, creative self-expression, life lessons and teamwork. The professionally trained staff develops programs based on curriculum standards and objectives, as well as 21st century learning skills, in a manner that is fun, interactive and hands-on.

Oglebay Institute’s latest art program titled Art Explorers: A Study of the Past is a traveling art history exhibition than can be implemented into any after-school program at schools, churches, community centers, art centers and youth clubs. Art Explorers: A Study of the Past covers ten significant movements in art history.

Lessons are presented in a step-by-step format and can be easily used by teachers, parents, club leaders and volunteers. Each lesson relates to the art movement by presenting hands-on projects that mimic the styles of that time period. Materials of an unusual nature such as patterns, tools, inks, clay and more are included with each lesson.
