A+: Environmental Education
Constructed from 97% recycled materials including Wheeling newspaper, plastic bottles, bus and tractor tires, and recycled aluminum cans, the Henry Stifel Schrader Environmental Education Center is a regional showcase for “Green Architecture” and environmental awareness.

Each year thousands of students, from pre-K through graduate school, participate in the Schrader Center’s dynamic programming. Programs supplement classroom teaching with focused and intense field experience, enrich National Science Education Standards and integrate many other disciplines including: biology, career education, character education, chemistry, computer science, earth science, history, language arts, life science/ecology, mathematics, physical and health science, social responsibility, social studies, and technology.
